10,000 Plus Feedback Power Seller Hijacked

Filed under: Hijacked Sellers — admin @ 3:42 am

eBay’s Power Seller with 10,000 Plus feedback gets hijacked and 198 eBay buyers being scammed right now for thousands of dollars … under eBay’s Proactive Fraud Policy…

Take a look at this 10,000+ feedback seller, who does not even know they were hijacked by a Romanian scammer. The Romanian kid uploaded 5 auctions, those 24 hr auctions completed, eBay’s fraud dept did absolutely nothing to stop this even though they proudly announced they are proactively squashing fraud on eBay site, and so we have

110 bidders being scammed by this juvenile Romanian Scammer right now

,
Here we have Kirby Commercial Diving Helmet fake auction uploaded by the Romanian Scammer to a Hijacked seller account, this caught our eye because the seller has 10,000 feedback score - so this is a very experienced eBayer not likely to fall for Phishing Scam…. Anyways, their account IS HIJACKED and they do not even know it yet.

These Buyers all saw the auction close thinking they are doing business with 10,000 feedback reputable seller, now they are all being sent buy now offer/ second chance for item that does not exist at fraction of the price, some of them will Western Union their cash to Romania and will NEVER buy on eBay again after they realize they have been scammed… but such realizations would come too late, right now they think they are doing business with a seller that has 10,000 feedbacks under security of a eBay venue, once this is over, eBay will tell them in a nice polite way “screw you”.But wait! the scammer is not done yet, he is already running the same auctions on another hijacked seller, take a look at our screen shots Kirby with a new set of Victims, Sony, Dell, Brother, Pfaff of identical items listed on a newly hijacked seller The May 12th auctions on this other hijacked seller id hammsride also went to completion successfully for the scammer and thus the scammer has another set of victims.

So you can add 88 Victims from this morning to the first 110 Victims from yesterday on just this one scammer email address … NOTE : we are tracking several hundred email addresses like this! The scammer is so successful in his scams under the new eBay Proactive Fraud Policy that he has already uploaded new round of scams, on the same hijacked hammsride eBay seller ID… (our screenshot for archive purpose).. the newly uploaded Auctions do not show up in eBay searches yet, it will take just few more moments for these to pass eBays new and improved fraud filtering system. You can see the hammsride auctions about to be made available to another set of 100 or so Victims. This time the scammer changes his email address, at least on half of the auctions the email laketilor@aol.com remains and the other half of todays auctions on this account displays email address samalisell@aol.com. Hijackers usually utilize one email address for relatively short period of time, an average of 10 scams and then they open up a new free email account, thus laketilor@aol.com is morphing to samalisell@aol.com today. … the Hijacker advertises the same email address in those scam auctions: laketilor@aol.com and this email address has been appearing consistently/daily (along with few hundred other email addresses the scammers use… so our real time scam auctions RSS Feed) on hijacked sellers since beginning of May, here is a sample auction showing this email address from May 5th for Kirby on yet another hijacked seller. So this is not a new difficult to detect scammer, it only took one minute to include the email address advertised by the scammer into our fraud sniffer RSS tool and the RSS tool alerts us anytime this scammer uses this email address in any eBay auctions. eBay claims they dedicate 10 PhDs and staff of 2000 people to fraud fighting across its sites world-wide. Yet obvious, easy to spot scams like this one consistently make it through eBay filters and army of 2000 dedicated employees DAILY. We are only highlighting one instance of hundreds detected on eBay site daily, there is just not enough time and space on this page to envelope the scope of Fraud on eBay site. The scammer is very easy to find, here is a detailed video of these scams taken by another eBayer

Our conclusion is that eBay is knowingly and willingly letting fraud flourish on their site with a purpose of making more profits in listing fees.

How’s that you ask? If the real Kirby seller has to re-list the same item 2 or 3 times, (( here is a link to a scrennshot of the poor Kirby seller’s original auction where he listed his item for $7500 that ended on May 1st with 0 bids and here is a screenshot of relist auction by the real Kirby seller where this seller, relisted the item for $6500 and still getting no bids, this poor guy is paying certain eBay fees twice and will pay them again because he will have to relist for the 3rd time as his item will not sell, since all of his potential buyers were skewed by the scam described above, this seller is probably pondering why his item does not sell… while eBay is enriching itself on knowingly allowing scammers run rabid on their site)) eBay will get to collect certain listing fees that are always charged, regardless if the item sells or not, multiple times. I can venture to say that eBay then has vested interest in letting scammers list items on it’s site because eBay profits more as the real sellers are forced to list high end items multiple times as scams slow down real sales. eBay feels it is not loosing anything by letting scams flourish on its site, eBay will not reimburse the buyers who got scammed, there is no protection if the buyer pays by Western Union or Money Gram. Ebay will not reimburse the Kirby Seller and other sellers who did not sell their items due to scammer interference for unsold item fees.

eBay is making nice profit on eBay scams. Class Action anyone?

eBay is not realizing that in fact it IS loosing buyers with lots purchasing power who will no longer have confidence in this venue, the eBay sellers of high end items are also loosing daily such as the poor Kirby seller with 0 bids, he is the real one, with real item at real price… but because eBay lets scammers rule their site, the potential customer will not bid on real items from real sellers as those scam listings at much lower prices skew buyers into thinking they can purchase such item at much lower cost. This is happening under a full knowledge of eBay management.

Seller Account Hijackings on eBay

Filed under: Hijacked Sellers — admin @ 1:22 pm

eBay Trust and Safety announced proactive fraud reduction policy/effort over a month ago. The proactive is not working! The scammers are still running circles around eBay and we see enormous amounts of scam auctions passing the “new and improved” fraud filters on eBay.

Here is a sample of 40 HIJACKED SELLERS WITH HUNDREDS OF SCAM AUCTIONS collected yesterday over a period of 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Click Here to see screenshots of hijacked eBay sellers and sample auctions that were uploaded without sellers knowledge…. all those auctions passed the famous… or should I say infamous eBay fraud filters. If we can find 40 !!!! hijacked sellers in 80 minutes, take screen shots and add them to our little scam track filters, can you imagine how many fraudulent auctions actually make it to eBay site?We estimate based on the numbers of hijacked sellers we find daily, which ranges anywhere from 80 to several hundred, that currently there is anywhere to 10,000 to 30,000 hijacked seller accounts per month that pass eBay security filters/pro-active efforts. Thus the core of eBay honor system, checking sellers feedback is worthless. If you are buying items priced over $100 the sellers feedback may be useless if the seller account has been hijacked by a scammer and fraudulent auctions were uploaded to the seller account without seller’s knowledge. The amount of fraud bypassing eBay security is staggering. Be very very very careful purchasing anything over $100 on eBay!

Scamming on eBay … so easy a Caveman can do it!

This Scammer Earning $2,000 per hour on eBay

Sad but true. eBay has no effective security measures to protect hijacked sellers and eBay buyers. Here we have a scammer who hijacked 99.2% positive feedback seller and uploaded 2750 fake auctions…. no that is not a typo - eBay lets the scammers upload thousands of scam auctions, here is a proof, just Click here to see the screenshot of first page of 14 pages of scam high end items uploaded with BUY NOW pay via PayPal, legit looking auctions…. yes 2750 of them. In our list you will only see 2748 - that is because there were already 2 VICTIMS in the first hour after uploading these scam auctions who pushed the BUY NOW buttons and most likely lost $1000 each to the scammer. Here is a link to the first item bought with BUY NOW and here is a link to the second items where the second Victim lost $1000 in BUY NOW transaction with this scammer. Does eBay care? You be the judge.
